As a blast from the past, here’s a manicure I wore during Advent.
This used China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Barry M white with a striper brush from a green polish, and my beloved dotting tool. Then Seche Vite over the top of everything – and yes, I am holding a GIANT bottle of top coat. Please don’t zoom in on this one as you can see where I was a bit pushed for time and everything smeared. Weirdly, the Seche Vite also had a crackle effect on my (not pictured) thumb. It’s never happened before or since…
I love Ruby Pumps and get compliments on it every time I wear it. It’s so shiny and glittery. Just go out and buy it already! I think I have one more Christmas themed manicure for you and then I’ll showcase some of my new purchases and gifts since I last updated you… about 2 months ago!
Meanwhile, if anyone would like to get hold of a couple of Lynnderella polishes for me, I’d love it as I fear I have become obsessed with Change, Snow Angel and Connect the Dots. You can buy it at llarowe.com on January 4th. Y’know, just FYI.
So, here’s my Christmas manicure! It’s using Zoya Sooki, with a coat of OPI’s Getting Miss Piggy with it on all the fingers except the ring finger. I then used tape and Model’s Own Sterling Silver in a shameless copy of a tutorial I picked up on Pinterest by Nailside. Topped it all off with a couple of diamantes (because I’m just that classy) and a couple of coats of Seche Vite. A week later and my diamantes are still stuck firm.
Also featuring in this pic is my Christmas present from the husband – a set of three handmade 22 carat gold rings with gorgeous ruby, sapphire and emerald stones. I loooove them, and they match the gold of my wedding ring. I’ve got some posts backed up with other recent manis so I’ll get posting over the next few days before I’m back to school!
In case you’ve been living under a rock (or possibly not in the UK?), the News of the World, a long-running Sunday newspaper put out its last edition today, as they’ve been doing some probably illegal and definitely immoral and shady stuff. I got a text from my cousin (hi stave!) yesterday suggesting I put the last NotW on my fingernails, so I did!
Base colour is OPI Skull and Glossbones, and then I just dunked my finger in ‘Glens Exciting Vodka’ and pressed the newspaper onto my fingers. Topped it with Seche Vite and done! I put little mini headline banners on my thumbs and then text from the first ever NotW on the rest of my fingers.
Right hand: (which is the better one in real life)
I love this newsprint nails look and will definitely do it again in the future – it was really easy!
