fortune cookie in spot on shocker!

Yesterday my fortune cookie read: “you will discover a talent for artistic pursuits.” As it turns out, today was arty indeed!

First:

Then:

I went to a taster cupcake decorating class and made both of these decorations in about half an hour. I’m quite impressed with myself even if my hot hands tended to melt the chocolate paste. It’s why you can see my fingerprints in the chocolate paste rose.

Finally, my Easter nail art. This is probably the first time I’ve done anything other than a solid colour with glitter since Christmas, hence my lack of posting here. I’ve done a “skittles” mani with white polka dots to pull the pastels together. Here’s my hipstamatic fancypants photo.

Here’s my colour-accurate photo!

This used (thumb-little finger) Barry M Blue Moon, OPI Pink Friday, Barry M Mint Green, Models Own Utopia, and a yellow I frankened (mixed up myself) from white and an old slightly shimmery yellow. I polka dotted with a dotting tool and Andrea Fulerton’s white striper polish. I really like this white polish – it’s thick enough to be opaque in one dot, but runny enough that it doesn’t dry out as soon as you start nail art with them.

My brother said that these nails were “sooo Cath Kidston” (ahh, hipster 14 year olds) so I got my favourite mug out

And while I’m picspamming, Sookie wanted in on the action.

Probably see you next school holidays!! :D

gagapanda

So, hot on the heels of Lady Gaga wanting to be a panda, I’ve had little panda babies on my nails. This was done with my striper black (this one) and Barry M white (again) all with a top coat of Seche Vite. I learnt how from this youtube video.  Incidentally, I’m over half way through my bottle of Seche Vite that I bought only two weeks ago. It is genuinely a miracle product.

I like my thumb the best, so here it is on its own.

Some of the fingers smudged a bit when I put on the topcoat but it’s hardly noticeable in real life.

pink roses

When I got back last night, my husband had bought me the most beautiful pale pink roses for our third wedding anniversary, so today I set about creating a nail look inspired by my pretty flowers.

I used Barry M White (no. 66) nail varnish as my base coat, and then stuck on some cute little fimo roses, and added a coat of OPI’s I Juggle… Men, which gives it a really cute subtle glittery shimmer. And I really mean subtle!
